Our acting

Recognizing Brazil’s global role as a top food producer and a major GHG emitter, we partner with governments and social-impact organizations, we support governments and social impact organizations in creating demand for sustainable goods and services: from agroecologically based foods to electric buses, solar energy systems, and low-carbon building materials.

Through technical support, innovation, and applied research, we help enhance public services, we contribute to improving public services and building purchasing ecosystems that regenerate territories, strengthen local economies, and promote equity and sustainability.

Why Jataí?

The name "Jataí" is a tribute to the native Brazilian bee Tetragonisca angustula, an important pollinator and symbol of collective organization. Sensitive to environmental degradation, Jataí bees are also indicators of ecosystem health. Like them, the Institute believes in the power of networks to drive sustainable transformation.
